XX International Congress on Religious Tourism and Sustainability

The history of the International Congress on Religious Tourism and Sustainability (CITRyS) began in 2004. The first edition was held in Argentina. The first congresses took place in Brazil, and then expanded internationally in its fifth edition in 2008. Over the years, the event has travelled to various cities in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Honduras, Spain, Colombia and Uruguay, among others.

CITRyS contributes significantly to the training and education of around 5,000 people in many countries, fostering specialisation and expertise in religious and sustainable tourism, leading to the creation of related events and initiatives, such as the "Routes of Faith" in Brazil, and the "Argentine Meeting of Religious Tourism".
